Work has begun on Seti Alpha 5's third (junior?) record. The creative spark is back again, coming in waves that stand taller than they have in a long time; we're trying to catch as many of them as we can. In 2 days work, the skeletons of 5 songs have already come together, all very different from one another but with a strange, undefinable common thread. I can say at this early stage that this album will feature the guitar much more prominently that on our previous 2 releases. In fact, only two songs (Aurora from Mountains in the Sun and Bad Dream Part 2 from Army Unicorns) have featured a guitar in the mix so far, and in both of those cases it wasn't very prominent. Well, maybe in Bad Dream Part 2, but even then, it was more textural than anything; expect the guitar as a big voice the third time around.
In the upcoming days and weeks, we hope to share more photos, videos, and perhaps even samples of the unfinished songs as things progress. Here's a little glimpse at one of my favorite skeletons so far; I think that there is an army of them in the closet, each waiting for a wave of their own...
